Combining Technology with Expertise
We stride, I mean, strive for long-term running success in all of our patients.
The aspects of your body and your run that we will take a deep dive into are:
- Your mobility and flexibility
- Your muscle strength and endurance
- Your training load (and whether it’s appropriate for your outcomes)
- Footwear advice
- Whole body biomechanics
- Running biomechanics
Once the factors that may be influencing your injury have been identified, a plan can be made to get you running faster as soon as possible!
Most running injuries don’t require you to stop running (and we rarely say that.. And if we do we are hating it as much as you are!). The trick is mostly about modifying those aspects of your run that we can.
READY TO GET BACK TO YOUR BEST?

At Fixio we are utilising advanced technology to accurately assess the biomechanics that an individual uses while running. Our expert physio treatment consists of soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, dry needling, shockwave and obviously, re-assessing your running biomechanics and ensuring you are improving! A specific individualised Recovery Plan of targeted strength and mobility exercises that are backed by science will be given to you to improve performance and reduce injury risk.
We look forward to bumping into you on a run or seeing you in the clinic soon!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Absolutely not! We regularly complete running assessments on individuals who are looking to prevent their next injury. If you are wanting to have a run assessment done to help in your performance and prevent injury, we are excited to meet you!
We have a treadmill and biomechanics capture software on site at our Dee Why clinic. Ensure that you bring all and any shoes that you have been running in recently and wear appropriate clothing to be on the treadmill at your normal running pace for 5+ minutes.
Book for a New Patient 1 Hour Initial Appointment and write in the “notes” section that you would like a run assessment. In our New Patient Form you will have the opportunity to tell us in detail about your running and injury history. The run assessment may or may not happen in the first appointment depending on what the physiotherapist deems is necessary at the time. It is quite common to spend 2-3 weeks settling your symptoms before we do a run assessment (as your gait and biomechanics change with pain!).
