Mason Neal
Clinical Lead Physiotherapist
APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist | Practitioner in Hand Therapy | Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist | Strength & Conditioning Coach
Mace Neal
Mace is a Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist (top 5% of the profession) and is on his way to becoming a Specialist Sports Physio (top 0.5% of the profession). You would be hard pressed to find a more dedicated and knowledgeable expert this side of Sydney Harbour. Mace so far has completed his Master of Sports Medicine following his Bachelor of Physiotherapy, granting him Titling as a Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist. On top of this expertise, Mace is also a Strength and Conditioning Coach… as well as being a Practitioner of Hand Therapy… AND a Practitioner in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy with a focus on sexual dysfunction and persistent pelvic pain.
With this many niches, it’s easy to understand why he is the Clinical Lead Physio at Fixio. He educates the clinical team and you will often see him observing the other physiotherapists to ensure that our standard of care is always world class. In his role as the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist at Fixio Mace’s patient load is heavily biased towards difficult cases and complex and chronic conditions. Mace is Fixio’s super nerd on all of the latest scientific developments in the rehabilitation space! Mason runs our professional development program and serves as our port of call on all difficult cases.
Mace’s real capacity for understanding athlete’s comes from having spent his career taking care of rugby league players, bodybuilders, powerlifters, strongmen, CrossFit athletes, and dancers at all ages and skill levels in the Newcastle and Hunter Valley region. Mace lived those lives in his youth dancing ballet and tap, playing rugby, powerlifting, and training CrossFit-style before COVID.
As an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist Mace adheres to the stringent criteria of the Sports Physiotherapy Australia group. Mason is demonstrating his commitment to life long learning and being the best in the field by undertaking the gruelling Specialisation program. This is the highest level of qualification that a physiotherapist can achieve (much like a specialist doctor). Mace is an expert at manual therapy and dry needling (a similar approach to acupuncture) to help his patients improve as quickly as possible.
Outside of the clinic you’ll catch Mace at the gym trying to build some juicy pumpkin delts, walking along Collaroy and Narrabeen beaches with his partner and puppy, or playing a few sets of tennis somewhere along the beaches.
