Danny Shaw
Danny graduated from Kings College London with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with honours and has been working in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy since. Danny’s early years as a physiotherapist were well rounded; he worked both in the public sector in the UK for the NHS as a Senior Physiotherapist as well as in the private sector at high end sports clinics and professional sports clubs throughout London.
Danny knows professional athlete’s inside out having played professional Football in the UK. Danny has also enjoyed the demands of working with professional athletes; footballers (soccer players), rugby players and tennis players as well as a stint with the New Zealand Woman’s football team. He enjoyed being the team physio last season helping Narrabeen FC complete back to back Grand Final wins.
Danny has extensive experience working alongside orthopaedic consultants managing a wide variety of pre and post surgical conditions. He is an expert in the rehabilitation of ACL reconstructions and people who have had surgery and strongly desire to return to sport. He regularly observes surgeries and has strong ties to specialists across the Northern Beaches.
Alongside this, Danny is a specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist, having spent considerable time both in the UK and Australia working alongside paediatricians, professional sports academies and multiple youth sports clubs. He is adept at supporting budding athletes through growth related conditions, fractures and surgical rehab as well as providing performance based programs.
Danny moved to Australia in 2023 and joined the Fixio team in the capacity of Senior Physiotherapist. He brings his years of professional sporting prowess (including his own career in football), his research into Shockwave therapy, expertise in remedial massage and is a qualified APPI pilates instructor. Danny is a keen beach volleyball player (you’ll see him down at Manly a few times per week), footballer and gym goer.
