KNEE PHYSIOTHERAPY NORTHERN BEACHES
We know how much knee pain can affect your life, so if that’s you, contact us to see how we can get you back to doing what you love.
As sports physiotherapists, knees make up the majority of our caseload, so you know you’ll be seeing someone with plenty of experience! We love treating your knee injury and knee pain at Fixio Sports Physio and Pain Solutions.
The knee joint requires elements of strength, stability, mobility, and balance to operate effectively. The main weight-bearing joint, which hinges as our knee bends and straightens, is the tibiofemoral joint, which presents with approximately half of the issues in knees with pain behind or on the sides of the knee. The kneecap joint, (patellofemoral joint) makes up the other half, with pain starting in the front of the knee. Both of these joints need to be working with correct muscle balance for the knee to be painfree and working well.
As the knee sits between the hip and the ankle, the integrity of both of these joints is crucial in maintaining knee function. Often, people present with knee pain, yet a hip or ankle “problem”, meaning the solution is to fix the hip or ankle and the knee pain will go away. Fixio Sports Physio Dee Why physiotherapist’s are highly trained in both the diagnosis and expert treatment of knee joint injuries.
These may be traumatic, such as a fall during sport or leisure such as skiing, something as simple as tripping over at home, or a work related injury. Knee joints also suffer from overloading the knee in an inefficient manner, such as kneecap maltracking issues, osteoarthritis, or ITB overloading.
When you come to see us, we will do everything we know possible to calm your knee pain down, then build it back up for full, long-term function.
