What is FutureProof at Fixio?
FutureProof is a safe, low impact exercise system which builds strength, flexibility and balance in people of any age or ability.
Our small group classes are run by experienced physiotherapists ensuring that you have a thorough understanding of how to execute the safe, controlled movements of our program that result in increases in strength and flexibility.
In each session you will have a focus area (for example: the lower body) to cater to your personal needs, allowing you to benefit from the low impact functional movements (for example: walking up stairs) through your full range of motion. Every exercise at FutureProof can be simplified if too difficult or progressed when too easy. I would highly recommend Fixio for the highly professional and knowledgeable staff .previously Jackson Foster sorted out an issue and now Danny Shaw is working on a foot issue. I have found that they are great at treating ,not only sports injuries but oldies as well . Jaeme is an absolute miracle worker - with her support I’ve been running injury free for almost a year, for the first time in over a decade. You’re the best!Posted on kate munroTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've been seeing Jaeme for lower back and hip pain and she's fantastic. She's helped me recover from the initial injury with pain management and now I'm building strength with her gym program to prevent another injury. Highly recommend.Posted on Zander GeraldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jaeme Last has exceptional knowledge in general physio and recovery techniques. Especially running related symptoms and how to treat them effectively.Posted on Neil EdwardsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Daniel has looked after me for my broken elbow since straight after the plaster was removed. At every appointment my progress was measured and new exercises given to allow for the slow progress that was occurring early on which is common with this type of injury. Whilst Daniel is very good it is really up to the patient to carry out the stretching and excercises. He supports and encourages you in this endeavour so that you don't give up. He can massage the effected areas, stretch the joint to ease the pain, apply acupuncture to help the muscles relax and does this with a personality that makes even a painful session not as bad. I'd recommend him to anyone in the same situation as I've been in.Posted on Pine AppleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After having numerous treatments with other Physio’s I tried FIXIO. NO ONE LIKE FIXIO I have problems with my shoulder ‘cuff tear’ and Jaeme has guided me though what I required. Danny Shaw has been my physiotherapist since I had a knee surgery a couple of months ago, and he is not only an excellent professional, but an extremely kind and emphatic person. I have achieved my fitness goals way ahead of time, and he has provided me with a wealth of information for me to continue to move forward. Equally important, Danny has always given me the reassurance I required to feel confident and comfortable concerning my training and day to day activities. My recovery journey would most definitely be a lot harder if it wasn’t for him and Fixio. Forever grateful!Posted on Yohanesh ChaulagainTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience with Fixio after suffering a calf injury. From the very first appointment, the team made sure I was looked after and followed up regularly until I was completely ready to return to my normal routine and gym sessions. A special shoutout to Jaeme, who was amazing throughout the whole process. She created tailored exercises and progressive workloads that really helped me recover safely and effectively. I highly recommend Fixio Dee Why to anyone needing physio support.
Why it works
The musculoskeletal system is comprised of bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage and connective tissues. The musculoskeletal system requires mechanical load to maintain optimal strength and health. This is the “Use it or lose it” Principle. We have all experienced astonishment over how quickly our body seems to deteriorate after we’ve been unwell!
Many scientific studies cite that high impact load (like jumping) has the highest effect on our musculoskeletal system. High impact activities tend to be associated with greater incidence of injury, hence it becomes something that we avoid once we fear the impact an injury would have on our lives.
Flexibility is limited by where our body feels that any further movement would cause us to become injured. Our bodies require load into these regions of tightness to adapt and gain more flexibility. Through gradual exposure into length with strength anyone can regain their flexibility.
Effective maintenance of strength and flexibility is achieved through loading the body throughout its capable range of motion. Our low impact FutureProof exercise system provides everyone this benefit of strength and flexibility inducing load without the associated risks of high impact exercise.
