Dominic is our beaches local boy, having grown up north of the bends and now residing in Manly. Dom has a passion for sports; still playing soccer, touch footy and is an avid runner. He has completed many half-marathons and is attempting to complete his first marathon by the end of the year. He loves the individuality of running and having to push himself beyond his limits as well as the teamwork and camaraderie that make team sports so enjoyable. It is this mindset which first drew him to the physiotherapy profession as Dom has a passion for understanding the needs and goals of his patients first and then working in conjunction with them to return them to their physical pursuits. Dom is registered under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Body (AHPRA) and is an Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) member.
Dom has completed the rigorous Doctor of Physiotherapy at Macquarie University, after completing a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise science at the University of Technology Sydney. It is through these two degrees that he has gained the clinical experience necessary to educate and empower patients to regain function and recover from pain. Dom uses a variety of techniques to help decrease pain and increase function, including exercise prescription, manual therapy, movement analysis and thorough scientific evidence-based education around understanding why we have pain and strategies to help understand the pain itself.
Dom has experience with musculoskeletal sports injuries and subsequent rehabilitation through his previous work with the Pennant Hills Demons AFL club and has a passion for sports and running related injuries. He has previously worked at Arcadia Pittwater Private Hospital, extensively with patients suffering from osteoarthritis of the hips, knees, ankles and shoulders, including exercise prescription, pre-op and post-op rehabilitation, hydrotherapy and education sessions.
In his free time Dom loves to go on multi-day hikes around New South Wales, exercising both mentally and physically, sunbathing at Manly beach with friends and frequent the local Manly pubs and restaurants. You can usually find Dom running around the suburbs adjacent to Manly, swimming at the Andrew Boy Charlton Aquatic centre or kicking back with friends.
